I was born in The Netherlands and studied in The Netherlands, Canada, and Jamaica (UWI, Mona).
 
I have been working in education on (Dutch) St. Martin for the past 25 years.

I have published various textbooks on history and social studies for secondary education.

My main interests are in the areas of history, philosophy and Caribbean Studies.

Currently, I am the Dean of Academic Affairs at the University of St. Martin (USM), Netherlands Antilles.
